This is a personal portfolio site of Amsterdam based designer,
Olga Scholten. It shows a collection of graphic design work
and personal projects (1999-present).
Graduated from and taught graphic design at The Royal Art Academy
in 's-Hertogenbosch. Was employed at Thonik, Anton Beeke Studio,
and Atelier René Knip. Started up her own graphic studio in 1999.
She works in collaboration with René Knip for the Royal Concertgebouw
Orchestra. From 2006-2010 together with Joep van der Made she was
the head designer for Zuiderzee Museum, for which they developped a
new identity including a new font.
Together with Joep she designed a book for the 50th anniversary of the
Dutch musical scene called 'De musical Het boek'; publisher d'Jonge Hond and
Stage entertainment.
Besides her commissioned work she experiments with self–initiated
art projects. She published a book containing drawings and text.
Designed a cover for The 1000 Journal Project. Participated in an exhibition,
by Max Kisman, at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht with a performance of
live drawings. In 2008 she was invited by Dave Eggers to be a part of
his exhibition at Apexart 'Lots of things like this' in New York.
For Eggers' Foundation 826 Michigan, she was asked by Jared Hawkley
to design a cover and flipbook animation for a student book.
In 2008 she started a project called 'A Perfect Day'. Based on
the Apexart exhibition, she is organizing to get the show to Amsterdam.
This will be an Festival about Image + Text from 9 - 24 of february 2012
at the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam. Check the website for more information.
We are producing this show together with Non-Fiction.
Together with this festival she developped an educational
program for high school students, who will be able to do the workshops
at the festival location. Check the site of our educational program.
She is initiating this with Paul Faaassen, Corine Haitjema
and Jesse Nathan, partners are Bekijk 't, Cultuurfabriek and Westergasfabriek.
The foundation is named 'En nog meer van die dingen', consisting out of
Teun Anders, Jonne Verburg and Sacha Happée. The foundation is very proud
to have recieved donations from VSBfonds, SNS Reaalfonds, AFK, Letterenfonds and
Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds. Soon more about this great adventure.
